We don't play a lot of video games around here. Well, Jared plays computer games, which I guess fall under that category, but we don't play a lot of console games. All of that changed this last week when Alene and Carl went on vacation and bequeathed their Nintendo Wii to us for the duration of their trip. It's probably a good thing we don't own one, because I'm seriously addicted to Guitar Hero. That's probably because it's the first video game EVER that I'm actually better at than Jared. He claims it's my musical background, but I just think it's my brilliance and general mental prowess being made manifest (hey, I never claimed to be humble!). The kids love it, too - Audrey always wants me to play "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" (as best as I can gather, it's because a girl sings it), and Adam is partial to "Slow Ride". I've also been playing Dance Dance Revolution a bit and am convinced I need to own it as a means of exercise - it's so much fun, you don't even feel like you're burning calories. I did it for over an hour the other day. The kids like to watch that one, too - they especially love calling out my grade and telling me if I did good or bad. We're having so much fun with it I'm pretty sure we'll be the proud owners of one before too long. Either that, or we'll be avoiding Alene and Carl's phone calls for the next few weeks. ;)

The Wii has become a necessary staple for our family! The kids love it, I even enjoy bowling. We haven't got into Guitar Hero though! Maybe wewill have to check it out.
