Monday night, we had a lot of fun planting bulbs for FHE. The weather was gorgeous, and the kids, especially, were so thrilled to be digging around in the dirt. The bulbs we planted last year didn't come up at all, so I'm hoping we have better luck with these. I am SO wanting to get our yard in shape this year, but I'm at a loss as to how to do it, and especially how to do it cheaply (we've dumped SO much money into our yard the past few years, and don't want to have to do that again this year. Instead, I'm trying to figure out how to get my results with good old-fashioned work). Any tips or ideas?

This used to be the stuff of nightmares for me - my daughter digging in the dirt in her pure white dress. I've loosened up quite a bit!

Jared, too hard at work to smile for a picture.

Adam's got this digging thing down!

The bulbs we planted came from this gardening kit mom gave Jared for his birthday. We just planted the gladiolus on Monday, so we still have lots more work ahead of us. Can't wait to see them come up!

My favorite thing---digging in dirt and planting bulbs. I can't wait to see them come up---you will have to take pics---I just love flowers.
Cute pics! I love when the whole family works together on a project!
Got to love yard work! I'm glad Steve does because then I don't have to do it-unless I want to. I know as well how yards can be a money pit-especially when your husband is very particular about it...
