Is a better-than-you-expected great bargain! Pretty Pretty Princess is one of Audrey's favorite games (moms of girls 3 years and older, check it out - it's sure to be a hit!). Unfortunately, she also loves to use the pieces for dressing up, and many of them have been lost or broken. It was on sale at Target last week for $7, so I decided to replace our old set. We went by Target last night after we went to lunch at Red Robin to celebrate Jared's birthday, but there were no games on the shelf, no rain checks out, and no employees in sight. I decided to go to Walmart and have them price-match Target's ad. Lucky for me, there was one more game left, tucked away up high and behind some other games. I snagged it and, when we got to the checkout, presented my Target ad so I could get the $7 price. The checker scanned the game, and it rang up at $3! OK, so it was only a savings of $4, but I was thrilled with the bargain nonetheless. Gotta have something to brighten my day amidst all the cold and snow.
Yesterday was actually a great bargain day - we ran to Harmon's since they were having a few great Easter specials, and they were also doing Easter activities - so the kids got pictures with the Easter Bunny, decorated cookies, and got balloons - all free. Then, our Red Robin lunch was free, thanks to Jared's birthday burger coupon (sign up for their Birthday Club to receive your own free birthday burger!) and a mall gift card we got from his work for Christmas. Top it off with the $3 Pretty Pretty Princess game, and it wasn't a shabby day at all for a never-pay-retail girl like myself.
In other news, Jared has called off St. Patrick's Day! All right, so he hasn't cancelled the entire holiday, but I was planning on doing this activity I found on Family Fun's website, which is basically to fill a St. Patrick's Day chest with goodies from the leprechauns, hide it, and have the kids find it. Jared drew the line, saying presents at Christmas is fine, presents at Easter is pushing it, and presents at St. Patrick's Day is ridiculous. Guess I'll have to appease myself with dying the milk green.

How awesome. The best is to get a deal on something you are REALLY looking for as opposed to deals on things you are "lukewarm" about!
Awesome! I'm glad it went so well. I think St. Patty's Day-- is spot on and ANY reason to celebrate and have a good time is a good reason! It is what makes our lives great and is definately one of the reasons Jared must have married you. Celebrating LUCK is awesome! You make everything fun...even coming over to talk or do a 10 min Pilates endeavor. We need to work out...by the way! I love your blog also! Cheers!
