On the Go / Blog-Slacker

I haven't posted in ages! In my defense, I only got on the computer twice in Arizona, and each time was just to quickly check emails to get phone numbers/directions from people in Arizona before the computer was quickly re-commandeered by my dad. Not much of a defense, since I have been back 4 days now, but I feel like I've been busy just trying to recover. Monday, I was around but stayed pretty low-key, as we had driven all night the night before (seriously - we left at 8:30 pm Sunday night and pulled in around 6:00 am. Jared was a total trooper and got up for work at 8:30, after driving all night. I slept in until the kids woke up, around 9:15 or so, and then lazed around most of the day, although I did get the car pretty much unpacked). Tuesday was spent getting my washing machine fixed (hooray!) and running errands, since we were out of most of the basics. Also enjoyed a nice Target run with my friend Traci. Need to get back there without the kids to round out some Christmas shopping - they had some great bargains on toys this week! Wednesday was when I finally tackled the housework - picking up clutter and odds and ends, got the suitcases totally unpacked and back to the basement, plowed through my piles of laundry, and did some kitchen and bathroom cleaning. Great fun for all. Thursday was another shopping day spent with Traci. We went to Steve & Barry's, a great new store in SLC. Lots of cute, cheap goodies. Unfortunately, we found most things weren't a great fit. I did end up with a pair of jeans and a shirt and a few things for the kids, though, so it was a successful trip, topped off by lunch at the Paradise Bakery. Dessert was the highlight here, with cookies and brownies to die for. We had to rush back to get the kids from school, and I ended up at Traci's for the rest of the afternoon and into the early evening, as I am wont to do. I did a little more shopping for the kids at the Store of Traci, picked up a couple of books at the Library of Traci - it was great! Came home and got caught up on my shows, and that brings us to Friday. Not sure yet what the day holds for us beyond school for Audrey - perhaps another jaunt to SLC to see my mom?
