On Thursday, Audrey and I went with my mom to my alma-mater high school's musical - this year it was Beauty and the Beast. We had a really great time, and I know Audrey felt special to be going out with "the girls". The show was really great - the scenery and costumes were particularly spectacular. I was surprised how well Audrey sat and paid attention - the show was about 2 1/2 hours long and, while she did get a little wiggly and restless during the second act, she was quiet and sat through the whole thing (on laps, of course, so she could see). After it was over, she couldn't stop speaking in superlatives - it was her "favorite play ever!" and Belle's dress at the end was "the prettiest in the whole world." She also declared it "the best night ever!" So - success. Because the play didn't end until 9:30 or so, we planned to stay overnight and then spend Friday with my mom, since that's her day off. Since we were staying overnight, I had to bring Adam with me as well, and Grandpa Larry was the designated babysitter. He did great! He took Adam for a ride in his truck (which Adam absolutely loves!) to the mall (how cute is that?!), and then to McDonald's for both cookies AND an ice cream sundae. Is he spoiled, or what?! Grandpa did his job well, though, as Adam was fast asleep on the couch when we got home (imagine an adorable picture of Adam sleeping on the couch here).
Thanks to Mom and Dad for a wonderful time! We all loved it! In other news - I'm on Day 6 of sugar-free, and I'm doing ok. There have been a few hard moments, but I'm pushing through. I'm surprised how much more energy I feel like I have. That was one of my main goals with this, so I'm happy with that. Fruit and sugarless gum have become my best friends! I'm definitely looking forward to Thanksgiving. Julie has promised me some Raspberry M&Ms. I really do miss chocolate!
Jared and I were able to go out last night - we went to Pier 49 pizza (very good!) and then saw Dan In Real Life. We both really liked the movie and laughed quite a bit. We both tend to be kind of picky about movies, but this one was just the kind I was in the mood for - funny and light, but with a bit of a message. Jared then went to play football this morning with the Elders' Quorum (who won this year - they play against the Priests), and hopefully will get the Christmas lights hung before we leave to go to cousin David's birthday party. I've got to finish up on my Sharing Time, too, so we've got a full day ahead of us!
