So, on the recommendation of several people, I tried a burrito from Chipotle last night. As I told Jared, I'm never doing that again! I wanted to get a carnitas burrito, but they were all out of that. I wasn't aware of that until I was up at the counter, ordering, so I had to make a game-time decision. I surveyed the meats available. The chicken and the barbacoa beef looked a little dry, while the steak looked nice and juicy, cooked to a perfect medium-rare. It was a no-brainer, or so I thought. I definitely underestimated the "spicy" in the description of the steak. The girl probably thought I was crazy asking for mild salsa to top that burrito - because there was nothing else mild about it! I must admit, I'm kind of known for being a wimp when it comes to spice. I stick to mild salsa, for the most part. My sister-in-law once made some enchiladas which she claimed to have toned down for her 2-year-old, but I still found them plenty hot. So, I wasn't all that surprised to find that, to me, the Chipotle steak burrito was spicy, even uncomfortably spicy. I don't know why people like to eat spicy food - I feel like the heat masks all the other wonderful flavors. I'd much rather taste the meat, rice, beans, cheese, fresh salsa, sour cream, and tortilla than just the chilis the meat was cooked in! Anyhow, it was spicy, but I was hungry, and I
had heard rave reviews, so I kept eating. Big mistake. I figured the overall spiciness I was tasting was as bad as it was going to get. I was wrong. About halfway through the burrito, I got a chili or something that was hot. Extremely hot. Nose running, mouth burning, bitter taste, tongue on fire hot. I was gagging and drinking and just trying to get it to go away. It did, about 20 minutes later. It was easily the hottest thing I had ever eaten, and I don't care to repeat that experience ever again. That is why this was both my first and last experience with Chipotle. So much for a glowing review! ;)

I will steer clear, I am a super wuss also. Perhaps it runs in the family...
I hate to tell you this now, but since you are fine... a girl working in the gas station right by there told me she heard that they were being sued because someone got severe food poisoning there. Now this is all hear say, but it was enough to keep me away!
I am not into spicy, but I do enjoy their food when i go to Texas, where is it located here? I may have to pop over!
