It Figures
So, my driver's license has been lost for a while. A few months, at least. Definitely throughout the summer, since my Costco card was also missing for a while, but that was lost after I lost my license (so I know I didn't lose them together) and I've had my Costco card back for a while now (thanks, Michelle, for letting me use yours in the interim. Can't get by without Costco!). Anyway, there is a point to this. The license has been gone a while. Long enough that I've been unable to purchase things at times, because I didn't have an ID to prove that the check or card I was using belonged to me. Long enough that I was denied entry to the "bar section" at the Guster concert last week for being unable to prove that I was over 21 (flattering though that was :p, it was mostly an irritant, as most of my friends went and sat up on the balcony, thereby gaining a better view and plenty of fresh air - it being an open-top balcony. I remained on the floor, thankfully with Brett and Anne, and did get the opportunity to dance like a maniac, so I guess it wasn't all bad!). I digress. The license has been conspicuously absent. I've looked all the usual places - my 3 different purses and 4 different diaper bags, the kitchen desk, combed the entire car, every pocket of every pair of pants I've worn within the last year or so - you get the picture. Admitting defeat, last night, I rushed down to the Driver's License Division (they close at 5:30, I got there at 5:33 - luckily they pitied me and let me in) and got my replacement license. I knew I would need ID to get on the plane on Wednesday (taking a trip to Phoenix to see Julie), so I bit the bullet and paid the $18 to replace the license. I was telling Jared I preferred the picture on my old license to the new one. I then commented, "Well, I guess I can use the old one if I find it - HA!" Knowing I'd looked everywhere, I figured there was no chance I was finding it. Joke's on me - less than 24 hours after I got the replacement, the original license turned up. Where, you might ask? But of course - in the floppy drive of the computer! Now, why didn't I think to look there months ago? Gotta love my busy little boy!

That is SOOOO funny. After all that suffering without your license, then to find it within 24 hours of getting a new one. Isn't that how it always happens? So, where are you going on your trip? Next time I am missing one of my "cards" I will have to check the drives. Laura
Gotta love Murphey's Law!! What a funny story. :-)
